If you track more than one person's investments — a spouse, a parent, a child — each has their own PAN and their own tax. Switch the portfolio picker to All portfolios and the Tax Planner adds a Combined tax summary that lays every PAN side by side.
One row per PAN
Each portfolio gets its own line: Total realized gains, the LTCG tax and STCG tax on them, and the Combined tax for that person. Because they're separate PANs, each one gets its own ₹1.25L LTCG exemption — a real advantage of holding investments across the family rather than in one name.
Combined tax summary
Per-portfolio breakdown · separate PANs each get ₹1.25L LTCG exemption
Aarav is a minor, so their gains are clubbed with the guardian's return under Section 64(1A) — no separate exemption applies here.
Each PAN is taxed on its own; the Family combined row is the total the household owes.
The family total
The Family combined row at the bottom sums it all — the single number for what your household owes this year across every portfolio you track.
The exception: minors
A child's account is the one case that doesn't stand alone. Under Section 64(1A), a minor's gains are clubbed with the guardian's return, and no separate exemption applies. The summary marks those portfolios so the combined figure stays correct.
Note: The combined view is for your own planning across the family's PANs — each person still files their own return. As always, the numbers are estimates; confirm with a CA.
