Loans & Liabilities

How do I add a loan or liability?

Track a loan with its EMI, rate, tenure and outstanding balance.

Updated 22 Jul 2026

A loan is part of your real net worth, so track it here alongside what you own. Add it once and ProjectionWealth follows the EMIs, the interest and how much is left to pay.

Add a loan

Step 1: Open the form

Go to Liabilities and click Liability in the top-right. The summary cards up top — Total Outstanding, Total Monthly EMI and Repayment Progress — sum up everything you owe.

The Liabilities page — each loan shows its outstanding balance and repayment progress.

Step 2: Fill in the loan

In the Add Liability form, enter the Name and Lender, the Principal Amount and Interest Rate, the Tenure (months) and Monthly EMI, and the Start Date and EMI Day of Month. Set the current Outstanding Balance so progress starts from the right place.

Enter the EMI, rate and outstanding balance; link it to an asset if it financed one.

Step 3: Save

Click Save. The loan appears in your list, with its schedule and progress ready.

Tip: Turn on Record EMI automatically and ProjectionWealth creates each month's EMI for you on the EMI day, then emails you to verify — so you rarely have to log one by hand.
