How do I add a family member's portfolio?

Create a separate portfolio for a spouse, child or parent — each with their own PAN.

Updated 23 Jul 2026

ProjectionWealth is built for households, not just individuals. Give your spouse, a parent or a child their own portfolio and each one keeps its own holdings, its own PAN and its own tax — while you still see the whole family in one place.

Open the Add Portfolio form

Go to Settings → Portfolios and click Add Portfolio. The form asks for just enough to keep that person's money and tax separate from yours.

The Add Portfolio form — a name, the relationship, an optional PAN, and a colour to tell them apart.

Fill in the details

  • Name — how they show up everywhere, e.g. Wife — Priya.
  • Relationship — Self, Spouse, Father, Mother, Child, Sibling or Other.
  • PAN (optional) — add it when you want that portfolio's tax figured on its own PAN.
  • Date of Birth (optional) — needed only for a Child, to work out minor status.
  • Color — the dot that marks this person across charts, tables and the switcher.

Hit Create and the portfolio is ready to hold investments.

Tip: Because each PAN gets its own ₹1.25L LTCG exemption, splitting holdings across the family — rather than piling them under one name — can genuinely lower the household's tax. The Tax Planner adds it all up for you.
