How do I update an asset's value?

Manually re-value an asset — a property revaluation, say — with a reason logged.

Updated 22 Jul 2026

Manual assets don't re-price themselves — so when a property gets a fresh appraisal or an asset's worth changes, you set the new value yourself, with a reason kept on record.

Update the value

Step 1: Open the asset

From Assets, click the asset. Its page has an Update Valuation card (an Update Balance card for schemes like PPF).

Step 2: Enter the new value

Type the new Current Value, pick a Reason for change, add a Note (optional) if it helps, and click Save.

Set the new value and a reason — the note is optional but useful later.

Note: Every change is kept in Value History, so you can see how an asset's worth moved over time and why. Need to change more than the value? Click Edit all fields to open the full form.
