How do I make a prepayment and see the savings?

Record a lump-sum prepayment and simulate what future extra payments save.

Updated 22 Jul 2026

Paying a lump sum into a loan cuts the interest you'll pay. ProjectionWealth records the prepayment and shows the effect — and it can simulate future extra payments before you commit a rupee.

Record a prepayment

On the loan, click Prepay. Enter the Amount and choose what it does: Reduce Tenure (keep the EMI the same and finish earlier) or Reduce EMI (keep the tenure and pay less each month). Then click Record.

Reduce Tenure finishes the loan sooner; Reduce EMI lowers the monthly payment.

Simulate future prepayments

Not sure it's worth it? The Prepayment Simulator lets you test an Extra Payment Amount at any Frequency and compares the Current Plan with With Extra — then shows exactly what You Save in time and interest.

Try an amount and frequency; the You Save column totals the time and interest saved.

Note: The simulator only models the numbers — it doesn't record anything. When you actually make a prepayment, use Prepay above.
