If your net worth looks frozen or Day Change shows a dash, nothing's broken — the market just hasn't handed over today's numbers yet. Here's when prices actually move and how to nudge one along.
What "awaiting" means
Stocks are priced through the trading day; mutual funds get a single NAV published after the market closes, usually that night. Until today's figure arrives, the Day Change card reads Awaiting today's price/NAV update rather than guessing.
The waiting state — Day Change fills in on its own once today's prices and NAVs land.
Why it's showing a dash
- Before market hours — there's no fresh price yet today, so the day's change is still zero.
- Mutual funds after a buy — a fund's NAV lands after close, so a same-day figure simply doesn't exist yet.
- Weekends and holidays — markets are shut, so prices hold at the last close.
Force a refresh
For a single holding, open it and use Refresh latest price to pull the newest quote on demand. Otherwise prices catch up on their own — no action needed.
Note: An Awaiting label is normal and temporary. If a price is still stale a full day after the market has traded, that's worth a ticket.
