How do I record a dividend, split or bonus?

Log a corporate action so quantity, cost and returns all stay correct.

Updated 22 Jul 2026

Companies pay dividends, split their shares and hand out bonus shares. Logging each one keeps your quantity, average cost and returns honest. All three live on the holding's page.

Record a dividend

Click Dividend on the holding. Enter the Ex-Dividend Date and the Dividend per share — the total across your units fills in automatically. Then click Add Dividend.

Enter the per-share amount; the total across your units is worked out for you.

Record a split

A split multiplies your shares and divides the price. Click Split, set the Split Date and the ratio (From and To). The form previews your New qty and New avg cost, then click Apply Split.

A 1:2 split doubles the quantity and halves the average cost — value is unchanged.

Record a bonus

Bonus shares are extra shares at no cost. Click Bonus, set the Record Date and the ratio (For every (held)Bonus shares). Confirm with Apply Bonus.

The extra shares are added at zero cost, so your average cost drops.

Note: Splits and bonuses don't change what your holding is worth — they only change the share count and the per-share average. Your Invested figure stays the same.
